When John Pepper began working for the Crown in Renfrew County there were two lawyers on staff, but not only did the staff increase in the ensuing three decades, but the workload as well, as cases became more complicated and lengthy. Mr. Pepper was recently honoured on his retirement after a career that spanned three decades.

Margaret Stuart stands with her mixed media work “Fireworks” which won both first place in the mixed media category, as well as best in show at the Juried Art Show in Festival Hall in Pembroke recently . Ms. Stuart’s daughter Jorah Stuart-Paull also won first prize in the youth category for her painting “Cat At Home”.

The 12th annual OptionsSkilled Trade Fair was held at the Pembroke Memorial Centre last Wednesday andit was a great opportunity for students and employers alike to promote the trades as careers. 
 
Bromley Farm Supply co-owners, Jim, seated, and Terry McHale proudly display the One Million Sales Award they recently received from Kioti for recording $1 million in sales of the product in 2011. The 2011 award marked the third straight year the Douglas business has recorded that level of sales.
