The old saying "a picture says a 1000 words" rings so true in this photo of members of 2nd Regiment, 2RCHA hugging five-week-old Husky puppies at the Storie farm in Horton Township. Farm owner said in the middle of all the chaos, despair and damage of the floods, and with people exhausted and close to tears as water rose closer to their homes, the sight of puppies and genuine compassion of the soldiers taking a moment to put down their shovels and tools and holding them, were as their commanding officer said, "it made their day." Once again, the students at OPS excelled when they collected 12 medals in Hibernation Meet and 21 other top 10 finishes in a pre-county meet in Carleton Place. Here, Emma McGrath clears a hurdle on her way to a second-place finish in the 80 metre hurdle event. Emma won the javelin and had top-10 finishes in the 1500 metre, the high jump and steeplechase.
